1. Information we collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and any information you choose to add to your profile (such as skills, portfolio items, or company details).
Usage data: We collect information about how you use Chromehive — including the Gigs you view, courses you complete, products you list, and investments you make.
Payment information: Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (Stripe, Paypal, Paystack or Hubtel). We do not store your full credit card or bank account numbers.
Communications: If you contact us or subscribe to notifications, we keep those records.
2. How we use your information
Provide our services: We use your data to deliver Gigs matching, payment processing, course delivery, and investor connections.
Improve the platform: We analyze usage patterns to make Chromehive better — smarter matching, better recommendations, fewer bugs.
Communicate with you: We send transactional emails (Gig updates, payment receipts, course progress) and occasional product updates. You can opt out of non-essential communications.
Protect the platform: We use data to detect fraud, enforce our terms of service, and keep Chromehive safe for everyone.
3. Information sharing
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.
We share information only in these cases:
- With other Chromehive users when necessary to fulfill a Gig, process a payment, or facilitate an investment.
- With service providers who help us operate (payment processors, cloud hosting, analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
- When required by law, such as in response to a court order or subpoena.
- When you explicitly consent to sharing.
4. Data retention
We keep your account data as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time, and we will delete your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements for financial records.
5. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to certain processing
- Data portability
- Opt out of marketing communications
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal @ mychromehive . com.
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some platform features may not work properly without them.
7. Data security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/HTTPS), secure data centers, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously improve our security practices.
8. Children's privacy
Chromehive is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy here and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Chromehive after changes constitutes acceptance.
